Rachel Hayden’s paintings seek order in chaos by puzzle-piecing together various objects and motifs. Her work features stylized self-portraits and anthropomorphized fruits, insects, and flowers, and is influenced by surrealism and her work in early childhood education. She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, in 1992 and received a BFA from the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore, Maryland, in 2015. Recent solo exhibitions have been at Andrew Rafacz Gallery (2021), Bim Bam Gallery (2021), Resort Gallery (2020), First Amendment Gallery (2019), and The Bermuda Project (2017). Hayden lives in Brooklyn.
